Blues to move Branislav Ivanovic back to centre-back

Chelsea are plotting a move for Torino right-back Bruno Peres over the summer in order to push Branislav Ivanovic to centre-back next season.

The Serbian was initially a centre-half when signed by Chelsea, but in recent years, he’s been pushed over to right-back in order to make way for a Gary Cahill/John Terry partnership.

However, with Terry injured and Kurt Zouma also out, Guus Hiddink has been forced to play Ivanovic back at centre-back, and in the last few games he’s put in solid displays, making the Chelsea management reconsider his best position.

Right-Back Wanted

With that in mind, Chelsea could launch a formal move for Torino fullback, Peres, who has been on the club’s radar for some time now.

Peres arrived at Torino back in 2014 from Santos, and has gone on to make 52 Serie A appearances.

According to reports in Italy, Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the fullback for a while now and could make a formal move over the summer after being impressed with his consistent performances for the Italian club.

Chelsea are expected to have a defensive overhaul this summer, with a centre-back and a right-back expected to be signed.
