Will Chelsea land a long time target? One man seems to think they are going to give it a go
Chelsea are looking for more reinforcements in January, and according to Matt Law over in The Telegraph, the Blues are plotting a £80 million move for Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar.
Arsenal and Liverpool still maintain interest in the 22-year old star, however, Chelsea have entered the race, according to L’Equipe that is.
Lemar is valued at £80 million, which means Chelsea will have to fork out a club-record fee to land him – but it’s said that they have an advantage over the two aforementioned Premier League sides as they can offer players, whether on loan or permanent, as part of a deal to sign him.
former Chelsea technical director Michael Emanolo is now running things at Monaco – which could smoothen negotiations if the Blues press ahead with a move.
