Blues tell Atletico Madrid to pay £14million for left-back

Chelsea have slapped a £14million price-tag on the head of defender Filipe Luis.

The Brazilian only moved to Stamford Bridge last summer, after completing his move from La Liga side Atletico Madrid, but it appears that he won’t be staying in England for long.

Luis Struggling at Chelsea

Luis has failed to break into Jose Mourinho‘s first-team, and has been used as a back-up to Cesar Azpilicueta, despite him being a natural right-back.

As well as failing to break into the starting XI, according to reports, Luis is struggling to settle in London and is desperate for a move back to Spain and in particular Madrid.

Price-Tag for Luis

According to reports in the English media, Chelsea have slapped a £14m price-tag on Luis’ head and have told Atletico to either pay up and meet the valuation or forget about re-signing the defender.

Also, despite Chelsea being interested in several Atletico players, for another summer, they won’t be interested in doing any player-swap deals.

Interest in Atletico Players

The Blues are reportedly interested in signing Antoine Griezmann and Arda Turan, but they are not prepared to offer any player-swap deals involving Luis.

During Luis’ four years in Spain, he made 127 La Liga appearances, before completing his switch to Chelsea last summer. However, throughout his debut season in the Premier League, he managed just 15 games.
