Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez reportedly boarded a flight on transfer deadline day in the hope of securing a move to Manchester United.

It’s reported that both Chelsea and Arsenal tabled offers for Mahrez with Algeria’s Football Federation giving him permission to leave the national team’s camp in order to move away from Leicester.

However, according to The Daily Star, Mahrez jetted off to join the Red Devils, with Jose Mourinho determined to bring a winger to Old Trafford for the 2017/18 campaign.

No other details are given as to why no deal happened, only reports claim he made the trip over there in hopes of securing a move away from City.

Mahrez, 26, has scored 35 goals in 141 appearances for Leicester since his debut back in 2014 the winger made it clear that he was keen for for a transfer away from the King Power Stadium this summer.
