Chelsea targeting another goalkeeper

According to reports, Chelsea have now joined Napoli and Valencia in the battle to sign PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola

Alphonse Areola is a French professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain.

The young French goalkeeper made just 14 league starts for PSG last season and has only two years left to run on his current deal for the Parisian side.

It was reported that the Blues recently acquired Willy Caballero as a replacement for Asmir Begovic, who left the club for Premier League counterparts Bournemouth.

However, it’s seems Caballero may not be the actual replacement for Begovic and Conte is looking for other options.

Head coach Antonio Conte, however, is keeping his options open as rumours continue to swirl over Thibaut Courtois’ future at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium number one has been heavily linked with a return to Madrid, with Real Madrid believed to be keen on landing the young goalkeeper.

Chelsea are confident they can retain Courtois this summer, though are monitoring Areola should the former depart for Spain.
