Chelsea will appeal against Nemanja Matic’s three-match ban after he was sent off for reacting aggresively against Burnley on Saturday.
The Serbian international was on the wrong end of a horror tackle from Ashley Barnes, and despite the Clarets striker getting away with it, Matic was sent off for his reaction to the tackle.
Matic charged at Barnes and pushed him over, which was deemed a red card offence, despite the awful challenge from Barnes.
The FA announced yesterday that they won’t be taking any more action on Barnes for the challenge, and according to reports, it’s believed Chelsea will appeal against the three match ban.
As it stands, Matic will miss the Capital One Cup final at the weekend due to his suspension.
