Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is out of contact at the end of the season and reportedly wants to move on in his career.
It is understood that Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 have been in negotiations with the German World Cup winner, but reports in Spain claim Chelsea are looking to hijack the deal.
Khedira, 27, wants a deal worth £100,000 per-week at his next club, a wage Chelsea could easily afford with their immense financial backing.
Arsenal were interested in the German international last summer but no deal materialised.
