Manager Conte confirms Chelsea boost
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that captain John Terry will be fit to face Manchester United on Sunday.
The skipper has had an ankle injury since the Blues’ draw away at Swansea on September 11th, and the side’s results have suffered since.
But, despite the reports that he’d aggravated the injury this week, the Chelsea boss Conte has insisted he is fit to play.
He said: “John is in good shape. He trained with the team. He’s good. He solved his problem with his ankle and he trained very well this week. He’s available for the game.”
Conte says he is yet to make a decision on whether Brazilian duo Willian and Oscar can feature, after the pair remained in Brazil after international duty due to losses in the family.
Willian sadly lost his mother, while Oscar is dealing with the death of his grandfather.
Conte said: “Willian came back on Thursday, in the morning, and then he had two training sessions with us. But it’s important to consider all aspects in this situation.
“I spoke with the player and me and the club are sorry for him – for this situation – and also for Oscar, who was in Brazil for the death of his grandfather.
“We must consider all the aspects and then make the right decision. We have tomorrow and then we will see. We support the players and their families.
“When you lose your mother, it is always a bad thing.”
