Daniel Agger begs for Liverpool transfer

Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger has begged Brendan Rodgers to let him leave the club, after the two held a meeting to discuss his future.

The Dane was later consolled by senior members of the team after he started crying due to his love for Liverpool, but he admitted that he simply couldn’t continue to be a fringe player at the club.

The 29-year-old hasn’t enjoyed regular game time under Rodgers, and now Dejan Lovren has been signed from Southampton, Agger’s chances of first-team football have been damaged even more, and he is now set for a Summer exit with Arsenal and FC Barcelona reportedly interested.

Arsenal are keen to sign a centre-back due to the imminent departure of Thomas Vermaelen, whilst Barca are low on centre-backs after Carles Puyol’s retirement.

It’s believed the Spanish side want to sign Vermaelen, but if the Belgium goes to Manchester United instead, they are likely to turn their attentions to Agger, who could cost them around ÂŁ12million.
