Former Burnley man wants to hit the ground running at Anfield

New Liverpool striker Danny Ings is reportedly set to leave his holiday early in a bid to make an instant impact on his new manager and team-mates at Anfield.

The former Burnley forward was given a couple of extra weeks off following his exertions for England’s U21 European Championship squad earlier this summer, however he’s set to wave the extra period and return to Melwood early.

Compensation Fee

Liverpool and Burnley are still yet to agree on a compensation figure for Ings, as although he joined at the end of his contract the Clarets are still due a fee as Ings is under the age of 24.

The Reds returned to pre-season today, and Ings is expected to join them no later than Wednesday this week as he looks to earn a place in Liverpool’s attack ready for the start of the new season.

He’s amongst a clutch of new faces to arrive at Anfield this season, with Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Nathaniel Clyne, Joe Gomez and keeper Adam Bogdan also joining the squad.
