Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has given his support and backing to Manchester United manager David Moyes, and believes he is the right man for the job despite their poor start.
United are currently mid-table in the Premier League and are also out of the FA Cup after being beaten by Swansea City in the Third Round at Old Trafford.
However, The Red Devils are in the Capital One Cup semi-final and they take on Poyet’s Sunderland tonight in the first-leg, and ahead of the game, Poyet has spoken out about Moyes and he believes that they have got the right man for the job.
Poyet said: “He needs time and I hope he gets it to prove he was and is still the right man for Manchester United.”
“It’s difficult to feel it (the pressure Moyes is under), but you can see it and I don’t think it’s nice, I don’t.
“But I am sure that David first is strong enough and good enough to do the job, and secondly, everybody knew that after Alex Ferguson, it would be very difficult, very difficult.”
