Playmaker has been immense since return from injury

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has admitted that he’s been satisfied with his ‘near-perfect’ return to the team after a spell out injured.

The City midfielder got himself injured back in February, during City’s Capital One Cup semi final against Everton. He missed nearly a month of action, including the final of the same competition against Liverpool.

He has recently returned however and has found some real good form over the recent weeks. He made his biggest contribution in a City shirt last week, when his late goal against PSG fired them into the Champions League semi finals.

“I didn’t know what to expect but the first four games I would say have been almost perfect,” he said. “We won three of four games and went through to the semi-finals.

“It’s the first time in five or six years I’ve been injured for that amount of time, so it was strange in the beginning to be on the sidelines – but you just have to keep your head up and work.

“In the end I was lucky with nine weeks – it could have been six months.”

“It’s when everything comes together. I feel good in the team, I feel happy outside of the pitch, everything is going fine so all these reasons give me a good feeling to play good and play on the pitch without other things in my head.”
