Blues winger set to stay in Serie A for now

Fiorentina President Andrea Della Valle claims his team are close to securing another loan deal for Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian international joined Fiorentina on a six month loan during the second half of the last campaign, as his first team opportunities at Stamford Bridge were limited due to the arrival of Juan Cuadrado.

However, Salah has the option to extend his loan stay in Serie A for the 2015/16 season, which he intends to do according to Della Valle.

‘I am optimistic about the negotiations succeeding’

When speaking to the Express, Della Valle said: “We are trying to keep him, this is the decisive day. Personally, I am optimistic about the negotiations succeeding. We will understand everything this evening.”

Fiorentina’s Sporting Director Daniele Prade also added: “I tell the fans that the club has made an insane offer to Salah. If any player, not just Salah, turned down a proposal like that, then it’s best he doesn’t stay at Fiorentina.”

“However, I think Salah will accept. He made a huge impact with us, so it’s normal that he should receive calls from elsewhere,” Prade admitted.

The 22-year old Salah scored six goals in 16 Serie A appearances during last season’s spell at the club.
