New Manchester City signing Martin Demichellis has been ruled out of action for at least 6 weeks with a knee ligament injury.
The Central defender arrived at City in the summer window for a fee of £3.5 million from Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid who had only been at the club for one month after signing for them from Malaga on a free transfer.
Demichellis has signed for City as cover for injured centre back Vincent Kompany who is expected to be fit at the end if September. He picked up a groin injury in City’s opening fixture against Newcastle at the Etihad.
Micah Richards has also struggled with injury and the international break has come at the right time for him, he is expected to return to training after the break.
Youngster Matija Nastasic has been partnering Joleon Lescott at the centre of the City defence.
