Di Maria: ‘Ronaldo may NEVER return to Manchester United’

Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria reckons Cristiano Ronaldo may never make an emotional return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo left Old Trafford to join the Spanish giants for a then-world record £80m fee in 2009, since overtaken by Gareth Bale arrving at the Bernabeu.

Former United assistant coach Mike Phelan, currently caretaker boss at Norwich City after the resignation of Neil Adams, believes Ronaldo may return to United at some point in the future.

But Di Maria, who left Real for United this past summer for £59.7m, doesn’t think his former team-mate may ever return.

‘I don’t think he is coming back to Manchester. It’s hard to quit Real Madrid,’ Di Maria reportedly told Radio America in Argentina.

‘Maybe, but I think he’s having a great time and I don’t see that he wants to change.’

Ronaldo scored 84 league goals in 190 games for the Red Devils, and currently has 203 in 180 for Real.
