Jose Mourinho won’t risk pair

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he won’t risk either of Diego Costa or Loic Remy at the weekend if they’re not fully fit.

The Blues are just one win away from winning their fifth Premier League title and with Crystal Palace coming to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, it’s expected that they will be crowned champions this weekend.

However, Mourinho insists that he won’t play Costa or Remy if they’re not fully fit as the club have no reason to risk them.

Injured Duo

Costa has been out since the beginning of April after picking up a hamstring injury against Stoke City, missing four games for The Blues, whilst Remy has been out with a calf injury that he sustained in training.

After Chelsea‘s 3-1 win at Leicester City, Mourinho confirmed that the duo won’t feature at the weekend if they’re not fit enough.

Mourinho Won’t Risk

“He has a chance, but we don’t need to risk it,” Mourinho replied when asked if Costa could feature.

“Diego Costa and Remy trained [on Tuesday] with the team, they trained hard [yesteray] without us.

“When you can protect, you protect.”
