The striker has joined on loan until the end of the season
Newcastle have confirmed the signing of Seydou Doumbia on loan until the end of the season.
The 28-year old joins from Roma, where he has struggled to make much of an impression. He was loaned back to former club CSKA Moscow, where he enjoyed arguably his best football, and he now makes the move over to England.
As part of the move, there is an option in the deal to sign the forward on a permanent basis when his loan expires in the summer.
Speaking about the move, the player said: “I’m delighted to be a Newcastle United player
“I’ve already started to prepare. I’ve arrived and I’m ready to go. It has always been a dream to play in the Premier League and now that dream has come true, so I’m absolutely delighted.
“I am looking forward to helping the Club get some wins and climb the table.”
