Jordan Rhodes has completed a deadline day move from Blackburn Rovers to fellow Championship side, Middlesbrough, for a transfer fee of £13m.

The 25-year-old has agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal at the Riverside after the move was resurrected on Monday – the news comes a day after the initial deal had collapsed, with Boro citing personal terms as the reason that the transfer failed to materialise.

During a prolific spell at Blackburn, the Scotland international scored 87 goals in 148 appearances in three-years at the East Lancashire outfit – 11 of those strikes came this season.

Rhodes becomes the third acquisition to sign for Boro in the January transfer window, following the arrivals of  Southampton winger, Gaston Ramirez and Athletic Bilbao striker, Kike Sola – his transfer adds further depth to the Teesside outfit.

Aitor Karanka’s side are currently second in the Championship table, a point behind leaders Hull City, as they look to grace the top-flight of the English game for the first time since May 2009.
