Romanian leaves Tottenham Hotspur after failed stint
Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal with Serie A side Napoli for the signing of centre-back Vlad Chiriches.
The 25-year-old only joined Spurs two years ago from Steau Bucharest, but the defender failed to impress during his time in North London.
During his time at White Hart Lane, Chiriches only made 43 appearances for the club, with his latest coming back in May when he was actually sent off.
Chiriches was one of many signed by Spurs that summer after they sold Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for ÂŁ85million, however, the ÂŁ8.5m they spent on the Romanian was seemingly wasted.
Second Defender Leaving
It’s not yet understood how much Napoli are paying Spurs for Chiriches, but it’s believed to be around ÂŁ5m.
He is the second centre-back to leave the club this summer, following Younes Kaboul, who joined Sunderland.
