The Germany international was a reported target for Arsenal

Wolfsburg’s club director Klaus Allofs has claimed that Julian Draxler will be staying at the club this summer.

The German has impressed many since his move to Wolfsburg from Schalke last summer and his stock has continued to rise after some good performances for his national team during the Euros this summer.

It has led to a number of teams considering a bid for him, one of them being Arsenal. The Gunners have – over the last week or so – been the club that are the most heavily linked with a move for the player.

Schurrle on the move?

Arsene Wenger has reportedly been weighing up an official bid for Draxler to help bolster his attack ahead of the new season. However, it looks likely that the move will no longer materialise, with Wolfsburg’s club director stating that the player is going nowhere.

Allofs told Sport1: ” With Julian Draxler it will be 100 per cent like this. He will stay.

“There is no discussion”

It appears then that the Bundesliga side are determined to keep hold of the talented 22-year old. However, Allofs did admit that one of his teammates could be on the way out – Andre Schurrle.

He claimed that although they wanted to keep the former Chelsea man, he is the more likely of the two to leave the club this summer.
