Eden Hazard criticises Antonio Conte’s defensive tactics against Liverpool

Eden Hazard earned plenty of praise for his performance in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Saturday, but it seems that the Belgian was not happy with manager Antonio Conte’s tactics in the match.

A late goal from Willian salvaged a point for the Blues at Anfield, but Hazard was the star of the show and provided much of the Blues’ attacking threat at Anfield.

Speaking after the game, he admitted that Conte’s decision to play 3-5-2 was too defensive and had to be changed in order to get the result.

“The only player around me was Alvaro Morata, so if we wanted to win we had to do something together, just me and him.” he told reporters.

“It is a good point because when you are 1-0 down at Anfield, it is not easy to score. We changed the system, Danny Drinkwater was on the pitch and then we were a bit more defensive.”

“In the second half it was more complicated but we scored so I am happy.” he concluded.

The Blues will be hoping to build on their point against Liverpool against Swansea City on Tuesday. Read Chelsea vs Swansea betting tips, predicted XI and live stream here!
