Eden Hazard has revealed Didier Drogba is his childhood idol and admitted he was honoured to have played one season with the legend at Chelsea.

Didier and Eden both helped the Blues win the Premier League title in the 2014-15 season as Drogba returned to the club for one more season.

The Belgian playmaker is widely regarded in the Football world as one of Europe’s top attacking talents and Hazard says Drogba is one of the best players he has ever lined up with.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Hazard said: “I grew up watching Didier Drogba play and he was a huge idol of mine.

“I signed for Chelsea just after he left so I was a little bit sad that I was arriving as he was leaving, but two years later he came back.

“I’m so happy I can tell my kids that I played with him, even if it was just one season.

“He’s a great guy, a great leader and you always learn from the best in football. He was such a big-game player and I still speak to him.”
