The draw for the Europa League takes place on Monday 11 December at 12:00 GMT (13:00 local time). It will be held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, France. It follows the UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw at 11:00 GMT.

There are two British teams involved in the Europa League draw – Arsenal and Celtic. The likes of Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are also in the draw, amongst others.

In total there are 32 teams, including 8 teams who have dropped down from the Champions League. Teams from Pot 1 (group winners and the top 4 Champions League teams) will play teams from Pot 2 (runners-up and the bottom four Champions League teams).

How does the draw work?

As mentioned, 32 teams go into the draw including 8 dropping down from the Champions League. Both the round of 32 and round of 16 to be drawn on Monday.

At this stage, teams cannot play against opposition from the same country or from the same group. However, teams coming from the Champions League can play against each other as long as they are not in the same pot or from the same country.

Pot 1 teams will play the first leg away and the second leg at home.
