Premier League new-boys AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Benik Afobe for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £10m.

The former Arsenal trainee has scored 10 times in 27 games this season, and arrives on a four-and-a-half year deal.

The forward scored 32 goals last season for the Midlands club and Milton Keynes Dons, where he spent time on loan.

Afobe has worked his way up the England youth system, with appearances at Under 16, 17, 19 and 21 levels.

The 22-year-old was a part of the England squad that won the 2010 European U17 Championship.

Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said in a statement: “We are absolutely delighted to secure the signature of another undoubted talent in Benik Afobe.
“It has been difficult to miss Benik’s outstanding progress as a player, firstly with MK Dons and then Wolves, where he has been a consistent threat in front of goal. His pedigree as an Arsenal Academy product must also not be underestimated.
“Thank you to Jez Moxey and Wolverhampton Wanderers who have been a pleasure to deal with throughout negotiations. We look forward to seeing Benik in an AFC Bournemouth shirt soon.”
