Everton have confirmed they have signed striker Cenk Tosun from Besiktas for £27m.

The Toffees have completed the signing of Turkey international striker Cenk Tosun on a four-year deal keeping him at the club until 2022.

The 26-year-old has joined Everton following the departure of Ross Barkley who has secured a move to Chelsea for £15m.

Tosun has scored 41 goals in the Super Lig since the 2014/15 season which is more than any other player has managed to score in the Turkish league during that period.

This season, he has scored eight goals in 16 appearances in the Super Lig for the Turkish club.

Tosun said: “It feels great to be an Everton player. I’m really happy to be here and happy that everything is done. I’m really excited to play for Everton as soon as possible. Everton is a great club with a big history and a big culture and I’m looking forward to showing the fans the kind of player I am.

“I bring my skills here and everybody is going to see what kind of player I am. I believe I can be a good player in the Premier League for Everton.

“The Premier League is a strong league, I know that, so my own physical strength will help me. Also I can use both feet the same and I believe I am a good striker in the box.

Tosun will be available for selection for the January 13 fixture against Tottenham at Wembley.

The Turkish international has also scored eight goals in 25 appearances for Turkey and represented his nation in the Euro 1016 tournament.
