Agent has flown to England to hold talks

Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal for Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio after reports emerged that the star’s agent has flown to England in order to hold talks.

The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with leaving Portugal at the end of the season, and it’s believed that a move to Anfield could be on the cards.

Agents in England

According to numerous reports in Portugal, Salvio‘s agent is already in England trying to finalise the deal whilst also working on getting Nico Gaitan to the Premier League as well.

Reports broke yesterday that Gaitan was in talks with a mystery English club, believed to be Manchester United or Chelsea, but it’s now said that Salvio could be in line for a move as well.

Liverpool Interest in Salvio

The winger has a ÂŁ42.6million release clause in his contract, but it’s thought that Liverpool could get a deal done for considerably cheaper if they aren’t prepared to activate his clause.

The Reds are potentially in the market for a new winger as speculation continues to mount over Raheem Sterling‘s future.

The England international has told Anfield officials that he doesn’t want to stay at the club and wishes to leave. Sterling still has two years left on his contract which Brendan Rodgers expects him to see out.

If Liverpool do choose to keep hold of Sterling over the Summer, his value will decrease as his contract diminishes.
