Claudio Ranieri insists that the winger will stay at Leicester
According to reports, Arsenal have had a £30 million bid for Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez rejected.
French journalist Gilles Favard, who works for L’Equipe, claimed that the Gunners had a bid knocked back by the Foxes.
However, he also suggested that they will return with an improved offer of £35 million to try and bring the Algeria international to the Emirates Stadium.
‘priority’
“Arsenal have made a £30m offer for Mahrez. Leicester rejected but Arsenal will increase the offer,” said Favard.
“Mahrez wants to join the Gunners and Arsenal are about to make a bid of £35m. Mahrez is a priority for (Arsene) Wenger.”
Despite such speculation, Leicester manager Ranieri is confident that the 25-year old will remain at the King Power Stadium.
