According to Arsene Wenger, Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez could miss the game against Southampton this weekend.
Sanchez started the Gunners’ first three Premier League fixtures, scoring in the 3-1 win at Watford.
However, the 27-year-old is yet to be assessed after playing both games for Chile during the international break.
Wenger looks set to rest Sanchez with one eye on Arsenal’s Champions League trip to Paris Saint-Germain next Tuesday.
“Apart from Sanchez and someone else who I haven’t seen yet, everyone returned okay (from international break),” said Wenger.
“At the top level of competition now you don’t have enough time to practice. There are lots of competitions.
“Maybe we’ll rest a few (on Saturday) because we have a game on Tuesday, but when you have a big squad it is easy,” added the Frenchman.
Sanchez missing out means that Lucas Perez could make his debut for the club against the Saints.
