After Arsenal’s 3-1 Premier League win over Bournemouth today, Arsene Wenger praised the qualities of Alexis Sanchez, and went on to hint that the Chilean may be open to agreeing a new deal to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Continuing in his new role as an attacking central midfield force, and finding the net against the Cherries, Sanchez has now scored ten goals in eighteen games.

His Arsenal contract is due to expire at the end of next season, and Wenger, despite fears over Sanchez’s schedule in recent weeks, kept him out on the field today and was rewarded.

“Sanchez, even when he looks dead he’s still alive and finds always the resources to do something special when you win the ball back,” Wenger said.

“He has that conditioning that when the ball comes to him again he finds always that extra gear to be dangerous.

“It is important [to keep him] how important I don’t know. We will not do that [agree a new contract] tonight and we have some time in front of us.

“You like us to spend money so you should be happy.”

Sanchez, like Mesut Ozil, has been linked with a move away from Arsenal in recent weeks, with Manchester City and Juventus keen.
