West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has admitted that centre-back Jonny Evans could join Arsenal before the transfer deadline.
Arsene Wenger is on the hunt for a centre-half after Per Mertesacker and Gabriel suffered long-term injuries in pre-season.
Pulis wants to keep Evans, but insists he will spend the money on a replacement should the Northern Irishman join the Gunners.
However, the 28-year old could stay with West Brom if Wenger completes a deal for Shkodran Mustafi.
“If Arsenal come in for Jonny, if we do any business, we’ll do it between the clubs,” said Pulis.
“I wouldn’t be sat here talking about doing a deal with Arsenal or anybody else.”
“The most important thing is that Jonny is with us and we want him to stay because he’s an outstanding player.”
