The midfielder could be off to France for the European Championships

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen to offer Jack Wilshere a contract extension, despite the central midfielder’s injury woes.

The 24-year old finally returned to action towards the end of the Premier League season, after a fractured leg had kept him out for around 10 months.

However, even though he has lacked first team minutes at club level this campaign, he has been selected by Roy Hodgson for England’s provisional 26-man squad for Euro 2016.

Wilshere still has two years left on his current Gunners deal, but Wenger has admitted he may offer him an opportunity to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium IF he can prove his fitness in the Three Lions’ jersey.
