Carlo Ancelotti has returned to London to prepare for a new role as Manager at Chelsea once Conte is sacked or resigns.

Ancelotti is keen on taking the job at Stamford Bridge again after having already managed at Chelsea from 2009 and 2011. Ancelotti won the double with Chelsea but was still sacked after coming second in the following season. The Italian was sacked earlier this season at Bayern Munich and is open to a return to the Premier League.

The well respected manager has cleared out his apartment in Germany this week according to The Sun and has moved all of his possessions to his home in London which he kept after his earlier spell at Chelsea.

Widespread reports state that current manager Antonio Conte could leave at the end of the season having fallen out with the board and the owner. Conte has repeatedly called for the club to make more signings which the club hierarchy ignored. While owner Roman Abramovich is said to have grown tired of Conte’s excuses and blame on the club which saw them sustain their fourth defeat in the Premier League recently in a l-0 loss to West Ham. Conte took a sly dig at the board after the loss stating that the players were tired and they couldn’t play so many games due to the squad size.

Notably, Conte signed a contract extension prior to this season which only increased his salary and did not extend any years at the club.

It’s believed Conte wants more control at the club after the Chelsea board failed to get many of Conte’s targets. Interestingly, technical director Michael Emanalo left the club recently enshrouded in mystery as it wasn’t expected and or explained why. Although Emanalo stated family reasons but he has since joined Monaco as technical director.
