Reports in Italy claim Chelsea are interested in AC Milan star Giacomo Bonaventura.
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City are also keen on Bonaventura, who in 2012 expressed an interest in joining the Blues.
Antonio Conte, seemingly on the verge of becoming Chelsea boss this summer, is keen to bring in the midfielder, 26.
He arrived at the San Siro from Atalanta in 2014, and has scored 14 goals in 63 games for the club.
Chelsea are understood to be sending scouts to Italy to see Bonaventura in action.
Bonaventura is a versatile, good all-round midfielder, with a powerful shot. He has two international caps.
