Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been hailed by teammate Michy Batshuayi for his skills when it comes to assists, with the Spaniard being compared to Santa Claus for his ‘gifts’.

Fabregas started tonight’s game at Middlesbrough due to an injury to N’Golo Kante, and provided a lofted pass to Diego Costa, who opened the scoring in the Blues’ routine 3-0 win, continuing their relentless cruise to the Premier League title.

The former Arsenal star became the first player to have assisted 10 goals in six different Premier League seasons. And Batshuayi took to social media to praise Fabregas festive-like gift giving skills.

The Belgian, not in the squad for tonight’s win, posted on Twitter: “Bro Cesc is like Santa on a pitch”, followed by a string of gift emojis.

With Chelsea reportedly closing in on a ÂŁ40m deal for Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fabregas may well be shifted further down the Stamford Bridge pecking order next season. Indeed, he is being linked with a move to Italy, with AC Milan keen on his services.

However, Fabregas is seemingly keen to stay, and provide more presents when required by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
