Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is not bothered by Barcelona’s 3-0 thumping of Real Madrid and insists that there’s no point in analysing it before their upcoming Champions League match in February.

Chelsea will be playing long-time foes Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 in February and many fans are daunted by the prospect given the recent thumping Barcelona gave current Champions League Cup holders Real Madrid.

When asked if Conte was worried about Barcelona after the 3-0 win, Conte admitted he was impressed, but added there was no point in analysing a game where the team (Real Madrid) play a different system to Chelsea’s.

“After every game it can change. Real Madrid plays in another way and I can’t compare Madrid’s style with our style. It is two different systems, two different ways to play the game.”

And Conte added that he’d be more interested in games where Barca’s opponents play with three-in-the-back and two wing-backs system with two strikers. That way he’d be able to get valuable tactical analysis to compare with Chelsea’s system and how to deal with the Catalona side.

“I think that we have to analyse more the games that they are playing against teams that are playing with our system.”

Real Madrid failed to press Barcelona in the second-half which led to their demise so Conte would be wise to look at the weaknesses Real Madrid showed as well as other teams who play with Chelsea’s system.
