Crystal Palace Injury Blow Ahead Of FA Cup Final

Crystal Palace have suffered a blow in their preparations for the end of the season, including the FA Cup Final at Wembley.

The Eagles take on Manchester United in the showpiece event on 21 May, after their last league game of the season at Southampton.

But they will have to play these two games without the services of Joe Ledley.

Ledley suffered a leg injury against Stoke last weekend, just minutes after coming on.

The Welsh star also faces a race against time to be fit for Euro 2016 this summer, where Wales have been drawn against England, Russia and Slovakia.

In a statement on their website, Palace said: “The club can confirm that midfielder Joe Ledley sustained a leg injury in the game against Stoke City on Saturday, which saw him suffer a fracture of the fibula,”

“He will be continually assessed over the next few weeks by the club’s medical staff.”

Ledley has been denied what would be a second FA Cup Final appearance, having been a part of the Cardiff City side that lost to Portsmouth in 2008.
