Palace eye move for Mario Lemina

Crystal Palace are considering a move for Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina, according to Italian news giant Calciomercato.

Lemina, 23, is not a first-team regular at the ‘Old Lady’, and could be tempted by a move to England in the summer. With Crysal Palace lacking penetration from midfield, they could make a move for Lemina during next transfer window.

The powerful midfielder clearly has bags of potential; however, his development has stalled in Turin since his £7million move from Marseille back in 2015.

Lemina has recently came back from the AFCON, where he was one of the key performers in the Gabon side.

Despite winning the league in his first season at Juventus, Lemina hasn’t been able to clamp down his place in Allegri’s side.

Despite been underused in Italy, Juventus are still keen to make a profit on Lemina. A figure in the region of £17million is reportedly the asking fee for the Gabonese midfielder.

However, Eagles boss Sam Alladyce is firmly focused on keeping the South London club in the top flight.

Alladyce has endured a difficult start to life at Selhurst Park, after losing seven of his opening 11 encounters. Palace are currently 19th in the league, two points from safety.

Alladyce obviously would be unlikely to sanction a move for a player of Lemina’s calibre, while their premier league future is in doubt. However, if saftey is confirmed, Alladyce could entertain a move for the 23 year old.

Palace are not the only club interested in the midfielder, Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri is also considering a move for Lemina.

The deal for Lemina could stretch out all summer, if the competition is as intense as it seems currently.
