Five Things Learned From Chelsea vs Manchester United

Chelsea and Manchester United did battle today at Stamford Bridge, two giants of the Premier League looking to re-establish themselves as a force.

Here are five things learned from today’s game:

1. Should Chelsea do more to keep John Terry?
The former England captain received plenty of support from the Blues fans today. Chants of ‘sign him up, sign him up’ resonated around the ground. Maybe it is time for the Chelsea board to step up and look after someone who has done so much for the club over the years.
2. United can dominate the first-half all they want, but they need to score more.
Ten corners in the first-half is not normally a bad thing, but the fact remains that they struggle to convert these opportunities into goals. This needs to change, and soon.
3. Willian is probably Chelsea’s best player right now.
On his 100th start for the Blues, he was a central figure in most of the chances the home side had. He is definitely a key figure as the club look to get their season back on track.
4. How long will Kurt Zouma be out for?
Even though the injury looked bad at first, with the player’s screams of pain clearly audible, he may not be out as long as first feared. Even so, losing the defender is a blow for the club.
5. Jesse Lingard could be important for United, despite not being a household name.
United cannot always rely on Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial for goals, other players do need to step up more often. Today Lingard did just that, taking his chance with a fine finish.
