The Gunners admired by Guardiola

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola could take a sabbatical before waiting for the opportunity to join Arsenal, with his Germany departure imminent.

The 44-year-old is expected to announce that he will leave the Allianz Arena next summer, when his Bayern contract is set to expire, with numerous top English sides set to battle it out for his signature.

Manchester City and managerless Chelsea, along with Manchester United are all reportedly interested in tempting the former Barcelona boss to manage their sides next season. However, Guardiola could wait for Arsene Wenger to leave the Emirates.

Pep admires Gunners’ style

It is understood Guardiola is an admirer of Arsenal’s passing game that similarly mirrors the Spaniards former club, Barcelona. And the Bayern boss is ready to wait for the opportunity to arise in north London.

Guardiola has reportedly been put off by quick-fire owner Roman Abramovich at Chelsea, who has sacked Mourinho for a second time. While City and United’s situation with their current managers remains unclear whether they intend to keep their under-contract manager’s in position next season.

Arsenal are currently one of the only ‘top four’ sides with a consistent run of form at the moment, second in the league, and would provide a good foundation for Guardiola to work from, should he be offered the opportunity to work at the Emirates.
