He is the most successful manager in the club’s history

Steve Bruce has today resigned as the manager of Hull City, just 21 days before the start of the 2016/17 Premier League season.

Bruce was recently interviewed by the FA about becoming the new England boss, but looks to have lost out to his good friend Sam Allardyce.

The 55-year old was appointed as Hull gaffer back in 2012, before leading them to automatic Premier League promotion later that campaign.

Bruce then guided the Tigers to the 2014 FA Cup final, which they ultimately lost 3-2 to Arsenal at Wembley.

The former Manchester United centre-back then achieved a second Hull promotion to England’s top flight at the end of last term; this time beating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 in the play-off final at Wembley.
