Klopp wrote “terrible” on the tactics board at Melwood but was not insulting his own team

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he wrote “terrible” on the tactics board in a team meeting to describe how their opponents would feel after facing the Reds.

The former Dortmund manager believes a style of: running faster than the opposition, relentless pressing to regain possession and hitting teams with pace on the attack will be the catalyst in overcoming their rivals.

Klopp also admitted a lack of confidence within the squad and is still trying to iron out mistakes and lift the squads’ belief in his early reign as Liverpool manager.

Taking time

Klopp is yet to register a win as Liverpool boss having drawn against Tottenham, Rubin Kazan and Southampton in his opening three games.

It wouldn’t appear that the opposition felt “terrible” after facing the Reds as they have all come away from the match with a point.

Injuries have hit the Liverpool squad like a plague since the German has arrived but insists the performances have improved since Rodgers’ tenure came to an end.

Klopp will be hoping to get his first win as Liverpool manager in the League Cup tie against Bournemouth to take some momentum into Saturday’s crunch tie with under-pressure Chelsea.
