Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has compared the upcoming derby match at Old Trafford against Manchester United with the famous Argentina and Brazil rivalry.

The 20-year-old striker from Brazil stated the derby match with United felt like the rivalry back home in South America.

“Brazil against Argentina is a bigger rivalry because we’re talking about two national teams, two countries.

“But it’s not that distant, it’s similar, it’s a ‘clasico’ and is very important for lots of reasons. It’s a head-to-head with our positions in the table.”

Jesus played in the last derby scrap in April against United and felt the rivalry was similar with the famous rivalry between Brazil and Argentina.

The Manchester City striker has also played for Brazil against Argentina earlier this year in June.

City are eight points ahead of neighbours Manchester United and a win for them could potentially end the title race.

Manchester United look like the only team that can stop City on their current form and will be confident after Pep Guardiola’s men lost 2-1 in their recent Champions League group game against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Mourinho will be without star midfielder Paul Pogba after gaining a three match ban while Pep Guardiola has declared David Silva fit to play.
