Manchester City forward Wilfried Bony is a target for West Ham United, according to reports.

The Hammers have been frustrated in their attempts to bolster their strikeforce this summer, failing to land many of their transfer targets, including Michy Batshuayi, Carlos Bacca and Christian Benteke.

Batshuayi went to Chelsea, Bacca seems set to stay in Italy with AC Milan, while Benteke signed for Crystal Palace.

West Ham have turned their attentions to Ivory Coast striker Bony, who is yet to feature for Manchester City so far this season. They are hoping to bring him in on loan until the New Year, as their injury list grows.

They brought in 22-year-old Jonathan Calleri on loan from Deportivo Maldonado, but Andy Carroll, Andre Ayew, Sofiane Feghouli, Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini and Diafra Sakho are all out injured.

Bony signed for Manchester City in a ÂŁ28m deal from Swansea in January 2015 but he has failed to make an impact in his 20 months at the club, and does not fit into new manager Pep Guardiola’s plans.

He is also attracting interest from China’s Super League.
