Three leading Premier League sides after France midfielder

Liverpool have joined Chelsea and Arsenal in the race for £17 million-rated Moussa Sissoko.

Newcastle United are prepared to listen to offers of £17 million pound for the former Toulouse player, who has been at the club since 2013.

It is no secret that Sissoko would love to join current champions Chelsea, telling reporters: “He (Mourinho) is one of the best managers in the world. He has won so many titles… any player would love to be coached by this man.

“If one day I have the chance to work under his guidance, I would be very happy.”

Sissoko experience valuable

Although he averages a goal every eight games, he has a lot of experience to offer for a midfielder.

Having made 34 appearances this season, playing 3,032 minutes of football, Sissoko has had a consistent run in a team that has struggled to find consistency all season.

The Magpies could be tempted to sell for less if an offer comes close, as it will be hard to keep hold of one of their key players from last season, having narrowly avoided relegation.

Sissoko scored in a 2-0 away win at City last season and got the only goal in a 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers. While his goal against West Ham United helped keep the Toon up on the final day of the season.

All three clubs targeting him would provide European football next season, something Newcastle don’t look like doing any time soon.
