Pochettino: ‘Premier League rivals want us to BEAT Chelsea’

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino believes the whole of the Premier League, except the Blues, are willing them to emerge victorious in their encounter on Wednesday.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are seeking a record-breaking 14th consecutive victory, and sit ten points ahead of Spurs in the table.

Spurs brushed aside Watford 4-1 today, to move into the top four for the first time since October.

Last season’s clash between these two clubs, dubbed the ‘Battle of Stamford Bridge’, resulted in a fiery 2-2 draw which ultimately proved decisive in Leicester City being crowned champions.

And Pochettino stoked the fires ahead of Wednesday’s clash by insisting that the rest of the league will be behind them.

‘It will be a very tough game and a great opportunity for us to try to stop them and try to reduce the gap.

‘It’s important, I think it’s important for us and for the Premier League to try to win and try to stop them and reduce the gap.’
