Yaya Toure agent confirms future

Yaya Toure is set to stay at Manchester City beyond this summer transfer window, according to the midfielder’s agent.

Toure has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium throughout the course of this season with Dmitri Seluk recently claiming the Ivory Coast international was ’90 per cent certain’ to leave in the summer.

Former City manager, Roberto Mancini, was interested in signing the 32-year-old for Inter Milan, with the Italian giants lining up a £10million bid for the former Barcelona star.

However, Seluk has gone against everything he has said in the past regarding Toure’s future, telling Sky Sports News that Toure will see out the final two years of his contract at the Sky Blues after the club told him he was ‘too important to let go’.

City manager, Manuel Pellegrini, has said several times in the duration of this season that he wants to keep hold of his first choice midfielder, who moved to the Etihad Stadium from the Nou Camp in 2010.

The Midfielder’s agent burst onto the scene last year when he said his client wanted to leave the club after they had failed to celebrate his 31st birthday.

In May 2014, Seluk said: “There is a big possibility Yaya will leave this summer.

“He is very upset. What happened at his birthday means the club don’t care about him. It was proof.” he added.

Toure is now on a post-season tour in North America with the rest of the City squad.
