Florentino Perez looks to build ÂŁ538 million squad

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants four Premier League players to create the most expensive team assembled ever.

Los Blancos are searching for a way to end Barcelona’s dominance in La Liga, with the Catalans having won the title in five of the last seven seasons, and Perez has drawn up a list of targets to make that happen.

Spanish left-back Alberto Moreno is a target from Liverpool, with the 23-year-old keen at getting forward and providing plenty of pace. And they are also targeting Everton’s John Stones, who they have been admiring for some time.

Eden Hazard joins them on the list, having been linked with the Belgium international in the summer and remain keen on the 25-year-old, despite his poor form for Chelsea this campaign.

And once again, Manchester United’s David de Gea is on the list of targets, having failed with a deadline day move for the player in the summer.

XI-man list

Real want Aymeric Laporte and David Alaba to join Stones and Moreno in defence, while Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski are high-profile targets they would ‘ideally’ like to sign.

However, the shock on the list is Neymar, who Perez hopes to prize away from bitter rivals, Barcelona. It seems unlikely that they could prize the Brazilian away from the Camp Nou, with the player himself having stated he’s happy at the club and the Catalan’s resistance to sell.

Paul Pogba and Marco Verratti are the others that make up Perez’s wish list, but it is understood the club president doesn’t have the required ÂŁ538 million available to purchase his ‘dream XI’.

Real also face a potential transfer ban by FIFA, alongside city rivals Atletico, similar to the one imposed on Barcelona.
