Paris Saint-Germain have made Chelsea boss Antonio Conte their number one target for the manager’s position, according to reports in Le Parisien today.
The Italian’s future at Stamford Bridge is unclear, and despite signing a new contract in the summer his relationship with owner Roman Abramovich has always been troublesome.
PSG boss Unai Emery is out of contract at the end of the season, with club directors not happy with the Spaniard’s performance after he failed to win the league last season.
Now with Neymar, Mbappe and co on board, there is no margin for error and Le Parisien say that unless PSG reach at least the Champions League semi-finals, Emery’s contract won’t be renewed.
They report that Conte will be a priority should they fall short of expectations. He is also seen as the type of character they need to handle all of the personalities in the dressing room.
PSG aren’t the only club interested in the Chelsea boss though. Last week, officials from AC Milan were in London to enquire about Conte’s availability.
His contract at Stamford Bridge lasts until 2019, but if he does move on before then he will no doubt have plenty of suitors.
