Left-back admits heartbreak at leaving Old Trafford
Ex-Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has admitted the decision for him to leave the club was not his own.
The 34 year-old joined Italian champions Juventus after enjoying an eight year spell at Old Trafford.
He was a respected figure at United and a fan favourite which has since been hard to replace.
However it has now been revealed that Evra’s exit was a decision primarily made because of his family.
Evra Reveals All
“It was a choice made by my family,” Evra told French radio station RMC.
“It’s hard to talk about it now. It was heartbreaking, but I made the choice for my family. I do not want to talk about the details.
“Manchester didn’t want to me to leave, but before the end of the league season, I explained that I had to leave.
“It was good choice, but I didn’t want it from my heart.”
Eva has since gone on to win Serie A and the Coppa Italia, as well as getting to the Champions League final since his move to Turin.
