Striker rubbishes reports deal is done

AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao has rubbished reports claiming he has already agreed to join Premier League champions Chelsea.

Reports emerged yesterday stating that the deal had already been agreed to and would be announced after the Copa America, but the striker has insisted that is not true.

Failed England Spell

Falcao is expected to join the West London outfit on a season-long loan with a view to making it permanent this time next year, similar to the deal he had with Manchester United, but as of yet, nothing has been agreed.

The Colombian spent last season in England at Old Trafford, but failed to impress, scoring just four goals all season and eventually getting told to return to France by Louis Van Gaal after the final game of the season.

Despite flopping in England, that hasn’t put off Chelsea or Liverpool, who are also interested in the 29-year-old, and Jose Mourinho has insisted that he wants to help the Colombian re-find his former-self.

Mourinho Wants to Help

The Special One said: “If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it.

“It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United.”

These comments from Mourinho lead to reports suggesting a deal was already in place and already finalised.

However, Falcao has commented about his future and has confirmed that he has nothing in place with another club.

Falcao Speaks

He said: “The speculation is not true. I am feeling calm.”

The news will come as a boost to Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers, who are in the market for a striker despite signing Danny Ings from Burnley.
